After our first critique at the residency, one comment really stuck with me. The owner of the gallery said, “Amelia...your art brings out emotion...it makes you feel something.” Internally, I knew this...but I always felt the need to explain. Just like in life...I felt misunderstood. It was beautiful to hear that my art evoked emotion...without any words being spoken. I felt confident knowing that my pieces stood on their own. They don’t need explanation, and they don’t even need to embody a deeper meaning. Often times life is best lived when you don’t take it too seriously. For the first time in my life, I feel open, free, and unbothered by outside noise. I am Amelia Rose...this is my art...this is my passion, and I hope it makes you feel something.
